Miller Responds to State of the State Address

David Miller issued a statement today regarding Governor Quinn's State of the State Address:

"I applaud the Governor for recognizing the need for honesty and trust in government and the commitment to jobs, ethics reform and long-term fiscal health.

Working families in Illinois today need leadership and a government that works.  I have fully supported ethics and campaign finance reform and to investing in programs that will continue to support job growth and access to care.  We must take advantage of this window of opportunity to bring in the federal and state dollars needed for education, health care and economic growth.  And we must do so with a long-term vision.

The unprecedented Illinois budget crisis requires us to be prepared for the tough choices that lie ahead.   We must confront these challenges with confidence, and we must be bold in implementing real structural change. 

As Comptroller, I will be fully prepared and able to make these initiatives happen."
